According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the number of housing units started nationwide in February was 64,614, an increase of 6.3% from the same month last year, surpassing the previous month for 12 consecutive months.



Due to the influence of the new corona, telework has become widespread, and the time spent at home has become longer, and housing demand continues to be strong.



Looking at the breakdown, the number of "condominiums" such as condominiums and built-for-sale houses was 21,453 units, a significant increase of 23.3% from the same month last year.

The number of “rental houses” such as rental apartments was 23,583 units, an increase of 4.6%.



On the other hand, the number of "owned houses", which indicates custom-built houses, was 19,258 units, a decrease of 5.6%.



Regarding the outlook for the future, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism says, "There are some factors that are not optimistic about the future, such as soaring prices of materials required for construction."
