• Politics Feijóo will support Sánchez's plan to reduce the impact of the war if he lowers taxes

The Minister of Finance and, therefore, directly responsible for the Government's fiscal policy,

is not willing to apply new tax cuts

to mitigate the loss of purchasing power suffered by citizens.

And neither will she, despite the fact that Alberto Núñez Feijoó has conditioned the PP's support for Sánchez's National Plan to that very thing: that the Executive undertakes a significant tax cut.

"The Government does not share that the crisis can be tackled with cuts to citizens. The slogan that everything is solved by lowering taxes

means weakening the Welfare State

", María Jesús Montero responded emphatically when asked about this point.

In his opinion, the actions already undertaken are sufficient, and he does not consider, for example, adjusting personal income tax to inflation.

This is something that has not been carried out since 2008 and numerous economic studies confirm that not reviewing the tax on prices is, in reality, a hidden tax increase.

However, and although Montero has stated that "the Government is willing to do "everything in its power to help citizens", the Treasury is not going to apply this measure.
