The National Institute of Cybersecurity (Incibe) has warned this Thursday that the company I-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes, SAU, an electricity distributor of the

Iberdrola group, has suffered a cyberattack

that has left the data of users exposed.

The cyberattack, which took place on March 15, has affected

1.3 million customers,

although hackers were unable to access bank, tax or electricity consumption data of users.

Data such as name and surname, DNI, address, telephone number and email address, Incibe has specified this Thursday in a statement.

In a statement sent to its customers, the company specifies that

no financial data has been violated

, such as the current account number or credit card, nor the electricity consumption.

The company has implemented the necessary measures to

mitigate the impact of this incident

and prevent a situation of these characteristics from occurring again in the future.

However, it recommends taking special

care with the data that has been violated

, such as name and surname, ID, address, telephone number and email address.

"If you have received the statement issued by the company, you must be attentive and regularly monitor

what information circulates on the Internet

to detect if your private data is being used without your consent," Incibe has reported.
