Zhongxin Finance, March 30 (Reporter Xie Yiguan) I went to the supermarket and vegetable market and found that many dishes have risen. This is the feeling of many residents recently.

Vegetable prices should be at a low level at this time in previous years. Why has the price increased this year?

Spring is here, but the food is expensive

On the morning of the 29th, the reporter visited a vegetable market in Xicheng District, Beijing, and found that the eggplant is 10 yuan per pound, the water radish is 7.5 yuan per pound, the ordinary cucumber is 6.48 yuan per pound, and the small winter melon is 6 yuan per pound.

The price of peppers has risen significantly. Among them, Chaotian peppers are 45 yuan a pound, Meiren peppers are 25 yuan a pound, line peppers are 20 yuan a pound, screw peppers are 14 yuan a pound, and ordinary long green peppers also reach 7.48 yuan a pound.

In a supermarket in Xicheng District, in addition to green peppers and other vegetables, the price of beans has also risen. For example, oil beans are 17.98 yuan a pound, cowpeas are 14.98 yuan a pound, and king beans are 13.8 yuan a pound.

"Under the epidemic, many vegetables could not be shipped, and the price of vegetables went up. For example, the purchase price of cabbage was almost 4 yuan, and I didn't dare to put it on the shelves," a vegetable seller in the vegetable market told reporters, "but has it increased? The price, like rapeseed, is still 3.5 yuan a pound.”

Zhongxin Finance reporter noticed that the prices of potatoes, carrots, Bian radishes and other storable vegetables are still low.

In addition, the prices of some leafy greens remained within normal levels.

National vegetable prices rose by more than 20% compared with the same period in previous years

Under the rising prices of various vegetables, on March 18, the weighted average price of vegetables in Beijing Xinfadi Market was 4.33 yuan/kg, up 56.32% from 2.77 yuan/kg in the same period last year.

Not only in Beijing, according to the monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, from March 18 to March 24, the average price of 19 kinds of vegetables in 286 wholesale markets in 286 production and sales areas across the country was 5.47 yuan/kg, down 0.2% from last week and up 21.9% year-on-year.

Among the 19 kinds of vegetable prices monitored, the prices of Chinese cabbage, green peppers, cucumbers, shallots and beans have increased significantly, by 12.2%, 7.7%, 6.8%, 4.7% and 4.4% respectively; lettuce, cauliflower, tomatoes, leeks The price of spinach and spinach fell by 16.2%, 10.9%, 8.7%, 6.3% and 5.8%.

"In the supermarket now, vegetables such as lentils, peppers, and garlic sprouts are more expensive than before," Ms. Wang, who lives in Jiaozhou, Shandong, also told reporters, "However, the prices of vegetables such as potatoes, spinach, and celery are okay and not too expensive."

Why are vegetable prices higher than the same period in previous years?

"There are three main factors. First, some vegetables were put on the market ahead of schedule, which had an impact on the supply in the later period. Second, under the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the links such as acquisition and transportation were not smooth. In addition, due to the increase in oil prices, logistics costs have also increased." Chen Mingjun, executive vice president of the China Vegetable Circulation Association, told a reporter from China-Singapore Finance and Economics.

"In early February, there was a cold wave. At that time, when a large number of vegetables in the south were on the market, some vegetables were frozen, so there was a shortage of vegetables in the south." Liu Tong, head of the statistics department of Xinfadi in Beijing, said. At the same time, due to the low temperature, the market period of northern vegetables was delayed, so from late February to early March, vegetables remained at a high price.

"

"After the middle and late March, there were outbreaks in many parts of the country, and some of them happened to be the main vegetable producing areas, which caused certain difficulties in purchasing vegetables." Liu Tong told reporters that in addition, some drivers had health codes with stars and pop-up windows appeared. In addition, the willingness to transport is not active, resulting in an increase in freight costs and a pulling effect on vegetable prices.

Once the supply comes up, the price of vegetables will drop quickly

"After the climate warms, vegetables return to normal growth, and the relevant departments are also tight on the supply of 'vegetable baskets'. Once the supply comes up, the price will drop quickly." Chen Mingjun said, "However, due to the uncertainty of the epidemic, it will affect the Logistics, etc., so it’s hard to say when vegetable prices will drop.”

Liu Tong also mentioned that some vegetables whose market dates were delayed have already been listed. After the epidemic has eased, vegetable acquisition, transportation and other links will resume. In this case, the prices of some vegetables will drop significantly in the later period.

Multi-site shot to ensure supply and stable prices

Recently, individual phenomena such as "a piece of Chinese cabbage 77.9 yuan" and "2 cabbage 93 yuan" have attracted attention.

Faced with the high price of vegetables in some areas, especially the epidemic prevention and control areas, many places have also taken action.

For example, after the incident of selling a Chinese cabbage for 77.9 yuan in Takashimaya Department Store, the Shanghai Municipal Market Supervision Bureau imposed a top penalty of 500,000 yuan on Takashimaya Department Store, and 100,000 yuan on the supplier Wang. Top penalty.

Another example, the Jilin provincial government has sent letters to 19 provinces and cities including Shandong, Hebei, and Henan, established a joint guarantee and supply mechanism in the three northeastern provinces, and coordinated point-to-point with the Liaoning provincial government to open up the relationship between production, sales and supply to ensure sufficient and stable vegetable supply; The measures issued by Shanghai emphasize that it is necessary to support and guarantee the operation of production and distribution enterprises of daily necessities, strengthen the supply of goods, logistics scheduling and market supervision, and ensure sufficient supply of staple and non-staple food and stable prices.

Recently, the Ministry of Commerce also stated that it will help key areas to establish a joint insurance and joint supply mechanism as needed, guide commercial and trade distribution enterprises to increase the organization of supply sources, connect with major vegetable producing and exporting provinces, strengthen the connection between production and sales, consolidate existing purchase channels, and ensure The total supply is sufficient.
