The app no longer focuses solely on closed asphalt strips: the integrated Free Drive mode now makes it possible to record the best moments on every trip.

Remember that the operation of the Porsche Track Precision app (PTPA) is based on access to vehicle information via a Wi-Fi connection with the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) in order to read the position of the vehicle, the speed, the engine speed, the braking force, steering angle, longitudinal and lateral acceleration, and other relevant telemetry data.

As the Free Drive mode focuses on documenting road journeys, the videos are only recorded moment by moment (unlike the circuit), when the vehicle's sensors register a special driving event (high brake pressure, strong longitudinal accelerations or side).

At this time, a one-minute video is stored.

The driver also has the option of manually marking important moments to capture on video.

The app is available for Apple iOS 14 or higher and Android 8 or higher operating systems, and can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
