The tourism fee of 6% is collected on “vacation homes” in Abu Dhabi

The Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi decided to collect a tourism fee of 6% on all units occupied by “holiday home” operators, on the date of issuance of the tourist license, which is listed under the name of the “vacation home” license.

The department said, in a circular issued yesterday, that holiday home operators are obligated to declare their monthly revenues in the first five working days of the following month, to submit financial statements supporting them, to cooperate with revenue auditors or those charged by the department, to verify the correctness of the declarations and fees that have been paid. about previous periods.

The department clarified that holiday home operators must submit monthly the fees they collect to the department, within a period not exceeding 15 days from the month following the month of entitlement, accompanied by an approved detailed report on the revenues of that month.

She indicated that the supply period was approved on the basis of the date of the actual collection date of the value of the tourism fee in the bank account designated for the department, within a period not exceeding 15 days, from the month following, to the month of maturity, whether the value of the tourism fee was paid by check, cash deposit, bank transfer or card. e-dirham or credit card.

The department confirmed that this circular is based on Law No. 13 of 2006, regarding the supervision of hotel establishments in Abu Dhabi, the law establishing the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, and what was stipulated regarding the tasks and competencies to achieve the tourism development of the emirate, and the decision of the head of the department regarding the executive regulations for the control of revenues Tourism and hotel establishments, and based on the decision of the Executive Council regarding the regulation and licensing of holiday homes activity in the Emirate.
