The originality of this solution signed by the French startup Midipile Mobility is that it is completely modular.
It can take the form of a two-seater version, with a module able to accommodate a passenger in the back, or to receive a specific support which is fixed behind the driver to transport goods.
Note that it is possible to modify this configuration quite quickly.
An organic solution
The startup uses biosourced materials rather than composites, mainly from the flax and hemp industry, as well as all agrosourced resins in order to be recyclable and therefore to obtain a carbon footprint close to zero.
However, Midipile does not wish to sell these vehicles but rather thinks of renting them to professionals and local authorities, then recovering them once their mission is completed.
This is to ensure the best possible longevity.
Not just on pedals!
In terms of performance, the machine can reach 45 km/h and carry a load of 300 kg.
Its batteries are recharged with the energy produced by pedaling, the electricity generated by photovoltaic panels as well as by regenerative braking.
Thus, depending on the effort provided and the sunshine, the range can vary from approximately 170 to 250 km.
Midipile has just presented a 3D printed prototype at Autonomy.
A first series of 10 vehicles will be produced during the year for initial full-scale tests.
The activity should be launched in 2023.
