Narita Airport Corporation has decided to request payment of landing fees, which had been completely exempted in support of airlines, at a fixed rate from April, as demand for domestic flights is recovering.

This was revealed at a press conference by the Narita Airport Company on the 24th.

According to this, the Narita Airport Company has exempted all landing fees for domestic passenger flights from the beginning in order to support airlines that continue to be severely managed due to the influence of the new Corona, but demand is recovering. From the new year, the exemption rate will be reduced and collection will be resumed.

The landing fee to be collected is two-thirds of the original for major routes in Kansai, New Chitose, Fukuoka, and Naha, and one-fifth for other routes.

On the other hand, for international passenger flights, it is unclear how much demand will recover, so we will continue to support the reduction of about 30% as before.

In addition, support for stores in the airport, such as a reduction in rent, will be extended for half a year and will continue until September.

Akihiko Tamura, president of Narita Airport Corporation, said, "We have decided to ask for a burden in light of the recovery in demand. Although the difficult situation will continue, we would like to work with airlines and tenants to overcome it."
