The government has decided to keep the real estate ownership tax burden on a single householder at the same level as it was a year ago.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Hong Nam-ki held a meeting of relevant ministers to inspect the real estate market today (23rd) at the government complex in Seoul and said, "For a temporary time, the overall burden of the one-family residence tax will remain similar to the previous year, and health insurance premium benefits will also be affected. We plan to discuss alternatives in the direction of not doing so,” he said.

He then said, "In the case of comprehensive real estate tax, we plan to introduce and apply a new deferred payment system for seniors aged 60 and over in one house, one house."

He added, "We plan to announce the details of the application target, reduction level, and expected effect through a joint briefing with related ministries at 11 am today."

In addition, he emphasized, "For the final bill, we will promptly implement follow-up measures, such as the proposal of amendments to the laws and the reorganization of the computerized system."

Previously, the government announced in December last year that it would prepare and announce additional support measures so that the burden of ownership tax for one householder would not increase due to changes in the published prices this year at the time of reading the published prices for standard land and standard houses.

As measures to alleviate the burden of the ownership tax, the use of last year's published price or adjustment of the upper limit of the tax burden when calculating this year's ownership tax, and the introduction of a deferred payment system for the elderly were discussed.
