Cornered for several weeks, the French oil group TotalEnergies announced on Tuesday March 22 that it would no longer buy Russian oil by the end of the year, due to the war led by Russia in Ukraine.

This decision is the logical consequence of the departure of the majority of the major world groups from Russia since February 24.

The French group TotalEnergies announced on Tuesday its decision to stop all purchases of Russian oil or petroleum products, "at the latest by the end of 2022".

The company, which has been criticized for not having left Russia, explained in a press release that it was taking "additional measures" in the face of "the worsening of the conflict" in Ukraine.
