Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. is a part of six factories in Japan because the parts manufacturers with which it deals have been damaged by the earthquake that observed shaking with a seismic intensity of 6 or higher in Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures on the 16th of this month. We have decided to shut down the production line for an additional two days.

Toyota shut down some production lines at 11 domestic plants including its subsidiary Daihatsu Motors and Hino Motors, saying that the parts manufacturer with which it deals was damaged by the earthquake that occurred on the 16th of this month and there is a shortage of parts. doing.

The suspension was scheduled for a maximum of three days until the 23rd, but according to Toyota, the situation of parts shortage has not been fully resolved.

For this reason, Toyota has decided to suspend eight production lines at six domestic plants, including the Takaoka Plant in Aichi Prefecture and the Miyata Plant of Toyota Motor Kyushu in Fukuoka Prefecture, on the 24th and 25th.

The impact of the additional outage on production is about 10,000 units in total.

Toyota says that it will make decisions on future operations by looking at the status of parts procurement, and as production cuts continue intermittently due to a shortage of semiconductors and the spread of infection with the new corona, the effects of the earthquake are overlapping.
