  Regarding the issue of bank's illegal and enterprise-related charges that has been widely concerned by all walks of life, Guo Wuping said that after continuous rectification, the illegal charges have dropped significantly, but there are still some problems in some parts, mainly including false and innovative charges, only charges but no services, segmented charges, long-term charges types of charges.

  "This year, the Consumer Insurance Bureau of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission will, in accordance with the unified deployment of the State Council and the requirements of the "Government Work Report", jointly carry out special rectification actions for corporate-related illegal charges in conjunction with relevant industry authorities. Guo Wuping said that in 2021, the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission will guide the industry to reduce ATM inter-bank cash withdrawal fees, and the banking industry will realize 4 billion yuan in profits.

  At the press conference, the heads of the three local banking and insurance regulatory bureaus introduced the reduction of fees and profits for the banking and insurance industries within their jurisdictions.

Yin Jiangao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Shanxi Banking and Insurance Regulatory Bureau, said that last year, the weighted average interest rate of loans in Shanxi Province was 5.33%, a year-on-year decrease of 0.22 percentage points, giving consumers billions of yuan in profits.

At the same time, the comprehensive reform of auto insurance has given more than 3 billion yuan in profits to consumers.
