The new hybrid Ferrari barely tested by the press, we learn that it will soon do without its electric motor and its batteries.

But don't get excited.

The info comes from the manufacturer itself: a competition 296 GT3 is being prepared in France, in the workshops of specialist Oreca.

As we know, the 296 is a small revolution, since it is the first Ferrari with a V6 engine (no, the Dino 246 was not a Ferrari, but a Dino), coupled to a rechargeable hybrid system.

However, the GT3 regulations prohibit any electric assistance.

So…

The Ferrari 296 GT3 will thus be content with its V6 which, muzzled as it should be according to the rules, will develop a little less than its current 663 hp (818 hp with hybridization).

On the other hand, without an electric motor and without batteries, the car will be even lighter than its already very reasonable 1,470 kg.

This promises to be the most agile Ferrari we've seen in a long time...

What if we dreamed a little?

Knowing that Ferrari has often offered road versions derived from its racing cars (Challenge Stradale, Speciale, Pista, etc.), can we hope for a "civilian" non-hybrid 296?
