To cope with the cost of living and the growing inflation in recent weeks, particularly due to the war in Ukraine, pensions or the Livret A will be revalued in the coming weeks.

The Smic will also increase by 25 euros net per month before the summer, announced the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire.

This is the good news of the day.

The Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire announced that the minimum wage would increase by around "25 euros per month before the summer".

However, it is not an exceptional boost from the government to cope with the rise in the cost of living, but rather an automatic revaluation, due to inflation, the precise amount of which is not is currently unknown.

But it's not just the minimum wage that will be increased.

The Livret A rate should go from 1 to 1.5%

Retirement pensions, for example, are also adjusted each year in line with inflation.

So it won't be for right away since it's on January 1 every year, but next year it should therefore automatically increase.

You also have the Livret A remuneration rate, which is calculated in part according to the price increase.

The next calculation is scheduled for July for a revaluation on August 1.

If we stay on the current trend, it could go from 1 to 1.5%.

But it is of course still too early to say anything.

There will also be an impact on the amount of rent.

This is good news if you are an owner, less good if you are a tenant.

But the index which makes it possible each year to revise the amount of the rents, also takes inflation into account.

This index is recalculated every quarter and applied on the anniversary date of your entry into the premises.
