First “mall” in France, inaugurated on October 21, 1969, Cap3000 has just won a high distinction.

The site of Saint-Laurent-du-Var, near Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) was crowned "best shopping center" in the world at the Mipim awards, the awards given to Mipim, the world real estate market which has held this week in Cannes.

Huge works carried out between 2014 and last year for a budget of around 450 million euros have enabled it to be completely renovated and enlarged.

From 83,000 m2 to 135,000 m2

The center, located facing the sea, has thus increased from 83,000 m2 to 135,000 m2, from 150 to 300 shops, from 5 to 21 restaurants and also from 2,300 to 4,000 jobs, according to its operators.

Cap3000 was selected in the final alongside the shopping centers Hongkong land's Yorkville – The Ring, in China, and Vialia estación de Vigo, in Spain.
