The manufacturing plant of Mitsubishi Motors' four-wheel drive vehicle "Pajero", which was once popular, will be sold to Daio Paper, a major paper manufacturer.

It means that we are considering renovating it as a production base for tissue paper and the like.

Mitsubishi Motors closed the factory of its subsidiary "Pajero Manufacturing" in Sakahogi Town, Gifu Prefecture in August last year in order to promote the structural reform of the company.

At the base where the once popular four-wheel drive vehicle "Pajero" was manufactured, 1000 employees were working until just before the closure.

Mitsubishi Motors announced on the 18th that it will sell this factory to Daio Paper, a major paper manufacturer.

The sale price has not been announced, but according to the people concerned, it is about 4 billion yen for land and buildings.

Daio Paper is considering renovating its factory to make it a production base for tissue paper and toilet paper, which are in strong demand even in the case of Corona.

Mitsubishi Motors' business performance was sluggish due to the impact of the new Corona, but it is expected that the final profit and loss for this year will return to the black for the first time in three terms due to reforms such as consolidating production bases. ..
