In order to maintain the local public transportation network, a plan to integrally manage fares in some sections of Tokushima Prefecture, which JR Shikoku and the largest bus company in Tokushima Prefecture had applied to the country, was approved, and on the 1st of next month. The integrated operation of fares will start from.

This was approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on the 18th, as JR Shikoku and Tokushima Bus had applied for a plan to improve the convenience of public transportation in the area.

The plan is to operate the fare integrally from the 1st of next month in the section where the lines of both companies run in parallel between Anan Station and Asakawa Station on the Mugi Line running in Tokushima Prefecture.

If you transfer from a railroad to a bus, you had to pay the first fare on both sides, but if you have a JR commuter pass or ticket, the railroad fare will be applied even if you use the bus, and it will be cheaper than before. You will be able to do it.

For example, when going from Tokushima Station to Mugi Station, if you change to a bus at Anan Station on the way, you used to have to pay a total of 1660 yen for the train and bus fare, but from next month, the JR fare will be applied. It is available for 1470 yen.

Both companies have applied for approval of a joint management plan based on the Antimonopoly Act Special Law so that even if the fare is managed integrally, it will not come into contact with the law.

This is the first time in Japan that railroads and buses manage fares in an integrated manner across industries.
