The Academy of Sciences of the Ministry of Transport released today (14th) China's transportation production index from January to February.

Data show that the freight index has achieved rapid growth in the first two months of this year.

  From January to February, the average value of China's Transportation Production Index (CTSI) was 153.8 points, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%.

In terms of structure, the average CTSI freight index was 188.2 points, a year-on-year increase of 4.1%; it rebounded by 2.2 percentage points from December last year, the fastest growth rate in the past six months; the average CTSI passenger transport index was 83.8 points, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%.

  The China Transportation Production Index (CTSI) is a weighted synthesis based on the passenger and freight volumes of railways, highways, waterways, and civil aviation, and comprehensively reflects the overall operation of the transportation industry.

The index consists of a composite index and two sub-indices of passenger and freight.
