Dewa: There is no intention to increase the tariff in electricity prices
Saeed Matar Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said that there is no intention to increase the tariff in electricity prices despite global events, noting that the government's directives are clear regarding facilitating business.
Al Tayer said, during a press conference to announce the listing of DEWA on the Dubai Financial Market, that thanks to the wise leadership, Dubai has strengthened its growth into a prosperous and diversified global economy within a few decades, explaining that the offering constitutes a historic moment, as the authority is the first government entity in Dubai to offer its shares. For the public subscription, which reflects the great confidence of the rational leadership and the Government of Dubai, as the exclusive provider of electricity and water services in the emirate.
Al Tayer indicated that DEWA is the first government entity to offer its shares for public subscription as part of the new strategic directions for developing the financial market in Dubai.
