It is with great communication that the government announced the launch of the new public service France Rénov' on January 1, 2022. More than a change of name, it is the whole system that has evolved with the aim of simplification and of better supervision.

A lack of visibility

Two public programs were previously benchmarks in the world of energy renovation.

The national brand Faire was dedicated to informing users thanks to its internet platform and especially to its network of support desks co-managed with the Agency for Ecological Transition (Ademe).

If it was thus already possible to obtain free information concerning your work projects, the advisers referred you on the other hand to the National Housing Agency (Anah) for all that related to the aid to which you could claim.

Between the round trips, communication not always well established and a brand that had not really been well impressed by the population, the system slipped too much for the taste of the government, which wanted to move up a gear.

The 2 in 1 device

So exit Faire and make way for France Renov', which takes over all of the network's 1,000 advisers under its flag.

The official web portal has a new look under the France-renov.gouv.fr domain, which brings together all the information necessary for private renovation projects, as well as simulation tools on the financial aid available and a directory of craftsmen. qualified RGE (recognized guarantor of the environment).

In the field, it is now the banner of "France Rénov' advice spaces" which brings together the 300 support desks formerly stamped Faire, as well as the 150 renovation points set up by the National Housing Agency (Anah ), to form a unified network of 450 structures dedicated to informing citizens and set to expand further.

More broadly, the new public service came under the direction of Anah, which therefore oversaw the entire process of information, support and financing of the works.

To contact a renovation adviser, the unique national number remains the same:

0 808 800 700 (non-surcharged line).

My Renovation Coach

The real innovation of France Rénov' is to institute individualized and free support from start to finish of the project.

After having received a first level of information from an adviser, owners ready to start work can indeed rely on “My Renovation Coach”, their new single point of contact.

Its mission: to simplify your course of work thanks to an administrative follow-up, but also financial, technical and even social.

From site recommendations to advice in the selection of companies, through support for your procedures and the mobilization of financing, this speaker will provide you with complete support.

For the time being, this new network of trusted guides only includes public actors (former Faire advisers, Anah operators and associations), unfortunately too few to meet the needs.

It will be necessary to wait until January 1, 2023 for private professionals, such as architects and design offices for example, to be able to obtain the necessary approval to also become renovation guides.

On that date, this service will also become a mandatory prerequisite for obtaining MaPrimeRénov'.

Revamped financial aid

The establishment of France Rénov' is accompanied by changes in public subsidies dedicated to energy renovation:

  • MaPrimeRénov': previously available for accommodation more than 2 years old, the aid is now limited to the oldest main residences dating back more than fifteen years and occupied at least 8 months a year.

Only the premium dedicated to the replacement of an oil-fired boiler remains accessible to dwellings over 2 years old.

  • Living in better serenity: the assistance from Anah reserved for the most modest households becomes MaPrimeRénov' Sérénité.

It makes it possible to obtain up to 50% coverage of the works, within the limit of 30,000 euros, subject to the condition of resources and an energy gain of at least 35%.

It will also be cumulative with energy saving certificates (EEC) from July 1, 2022.

  • Renovation advance loan: this new loan guaranteed by the State makes it possible to cover the remainder of the works, by benefiting from deferred repayment.

The interest rate is, however, left to the discretion of the banks that distribute it (Credit Mutuel and the Postal Bank).
