After the CX-30 in 2019 and MX-30 in 2020, the brand confirms its desire to move upmarket.

Because it is no longer a question of offering models to the general public with chic looks, but of coming to play in the upper segment, the premium.

The CX-60 embodies this new ideal, and marks a historic turning point for Mazda.

A large family SUV, it offers increased dimensions compared to the CX-5, and a much more massive appearance.

But as Mazda has accustomed us to, the design gives pride of place to soft lines and curves, this balancing this strong build.

Able to accommodate five people (the two additional seats will be the responsibility of the CX-80 scheduled for 2023), the CX-60's cabin is spacious and luxurious.

The dashboard, with its sleek design, incorporates a 12.3-inch screen (as standard), surrounded by noble materials: leather, wood, chrome, foamed plastics... Subtle and elegant details adorn the whole and confirm the commitment to Mazda: this CX-60 represents a leap forward for the brand!

Mazda's first plug-in hybrid

This is confirmed under the hood, with the appearance of a plug-in hybrid block, again for the first time at Mazda.

Its 327 horsepower drives the four wheels via a brand new 8-speed automatic transmission, and promises record fuel consumption of only 1.6l/100km.

In all-electric, it will be able to travel 60 kilometers.

And be fully charged in four hours from a household outlet.

Six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines will arrive soon, and both will feature 48V mild hybridization.

The range will be divided into four trim levels:

Prime-line,

Exclusive-Line

,

Takumi

(top-of-the-range) and

Homura

(with more sporty attributes).

From the entry-level

Prime-line

, it will offer dual-zone air conditioning, adaptive cruise control, a 12.3-inch screen and GPS.

The arrival in dealerships of this CX-60 PHEV is scheduled for the end of the summer, for prices starting at €48,890 including VAT.

A high price, but which illustrates Mazda's new positioning.

It remains to be seen what it will do on the road…
