The government has decided to ban exports of 57 items such as semiconductors and sensors for the general public from March 18 in principle, regarding additional sanctions against Russia, which has invaded Ukraine.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is newly targeting export restrictions to Russia, which is a combination of 31 types of goods such as semiconductors, communication devices, sensors, radars, and cryptographic devices for the general public, and 26 technologies such as software. There are 57 items.

Japan has tightened export controls for about 200 products that can be used for military purposes, as Russia annexed Crimean in southern Ukraine in 2014.



Following the military invasion of Ukraine, the government has expanded its scope to include products for the general public and has taken strict measures to ban the export of such products except for humanitarian purposes.



Japan aims to collaborate with the United States and Europe to damage Russia's munitions industry.
