Worth one million dollars.. "Civil Aviation" launches the second cycle of the "Mohammed bin Rashid International Aviation Award"

The General Civil Aviation Authority announced the launch of the second cycle of the "Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Aviation Award", which amounts to one million dollars, and aims to shed light on the achievements of countries, institutions and individuals around the world, to recognize their contributions to the success of the aviation industry.

The authority explained that this award, which is presented every three years, highlights the UAE's commitment to developing and supporting the aviation sector, in addition to supporting the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) initiative: "Not to leave countries behind."

She pointed out that the award in its second session consists of a category dedicated to countries that contribute to the provision of supporting resources to other countries in order to achieve the objectives of ICAO, and a second category dedicated to the best sustainability program in aviation, and it includes the environmental standard and the social and economic standard, targeting airlines, airports and air navigation service providers. The third category is devoted to academic research, targeting research and development efforts in aviation-related technologies.


The Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority, Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, said that the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Aviation Award reflects the vision of the UAE and its leadership in recognizing and rewarding excellence in the civil aviation sector.

He added, "Our goal is to support efforts to develop the aviation sector globally, support ICAO's directions, and honor innovators and innovators in the aviation sector."
