The vacancy rate of offices in central Tokyo last month was more than 6%, surpassing the previous month for the first time in four months.

Cancellations have increased due to the shrinking office area due to the spread of telework.

According to this, the average vacancy rate of more than 2,600 buildings in five wards of central Tokyo such as Chiyoda Ward and Minato Ward was 6.41% last month, up 0.15 points from the previous month.

The vacancy rate has risen for the first time in four months, mainly due to the shrinking office area due to the spread of telework and the increase in cancellations due to relocation to new buildings.

The breakdown is

▽ Minato Ward 8.42%

▽ Chuo Ward 6.19%

▽ Shibuya Ward 5.78%

▽ Shinjuku Ward 5.65%

▽ Chiyoda Ward 4.96%.

On the other hand, the average rent per tsubo of offices was 20,418 yen, a decrease of 1,200 yen compared to the same month of the previous year, the 19th consecutive month of decline.
