Fuel prices are on the rise.

From week to week, prices soar, now amounting to almost 2 euros per liter in some service stations.

To cope with soaring prices at the pump, the government is taking things in hand: the kilometer scale will be revised while a second inflation allowance may be paid.

A war 2,400 kilometers away and consequences even in French service stations.

In one week, the price of fuels exploded: plus 14 cents for the liter of diesel, plus 7 cents for the liter of gasoline, according to figures from the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

The government is preparing a resilience plan outlined Monday evening by Emmanuel Macron, the president now a candidate for the presidential election.

An extra boost

With first of all, a revision of the mileage scale which will be improved and a supplement which will be paid in the form of an inflation allowance to quickly deal with the surge in fuel prices.

Remember that the mileage allowance scale will be raised by 10% from April 2022, as announced by the government.

An inflation check of 100 euros had also been paid to 38 million French people but faced with the increase in oil prices, “an additional boost is necessary”, estimates the executive.

Several large retailers have already warned that an increase of 8 to 10 cents on the liter of fuel is expected in the coming days.
