• After a peak in notoriety during the Covid-19 crisis, Doctolib, 2,500 employees, has not finished talking about it.

  • The company announces an ambitious recruitment plan and several projects, in particular to support the "digital transformation" of hospitals.

Already used since 2013 by part of the population for making medical appointments and then teleconsultation, Doctolib has become essential during the health crisis.

With more than 86 million vaccination slots reserved online thanks to this platform, the French company of the same name, which recently rose to 11th place among the favorite companies of the French, has not finished making talk about her.

This Monday, it announces big ambitions for 2022 with the recruitment of 700 new employees, including nearly 150 in Nantes, its largest regional office and which has grown significantly since it opened barely two years ago.

“The crisis has had a very strong impact in terms of visibility, it's true, but it hasn't changed much about our income or our development plan, explains Matthieu Birach, Doctolib's HRD.

Our line remains the same: recruit more and more year after year to improve the daily lives of professionals and facilitate access to care.

A team of 2,500 employees to expand

In order to respond to the 60 million patients who now use Doctolib in France, but also in Germany and Italy now, the "unicorn" (this term which qualifies these few young companies not listed on the stock market and valued at more than one billion dollars) searches for all-round profiles.

To expand its team of currently 2,500 employees, average age 30, it is of course recruiting IT specialists, but also sales people, communication officers, not to mention the many advisers who will join the ranks of its customer service.

A sharp increase in staff in Nantes which will require a future move from the current premises in the South station district to larger ones.

“From 8 in 2020, we have now grown to 300 people, explains Matthieu Birach.

It would have been a shame to stay in Paris, we would have deprived ourselves of a wide range of talents.

The objective is to continue the growth, to be more than 700 by 2024”.

Figures that make you dizzy, like the investment planned by the company this year (300 million euros) which, however, would not yet be profitable.

Digital transformation of hospitals

For Doctolib, the objective is to establish itself over the long term, in France and in Europe in the coming years.

In 2022, it intends to be deployed in hospitals (250 already use the service, including the Nantes University Hospital) to support their "digital transformation", thanks to new software allowing "facilitated appointment booking" or even "a better transmission of medical documents”.

The company is also working on a “new generation” offer for practitioners, this time to help them with the administrative and financial management of their practice.

A highly sensitive subject, “new security standards for online medical secrecy” are also in preparation.

To do this, Doctolib announces that it has recently acquired the start-up Tanker, a specialist in data encryption.

“Users, public authorities have seen how robust and transparent we have been over the past 24 months, believes Matthieu Birach, in responding to criticism.

We put all the means to be one of the most secure actors in Europe.
