Tinkoff announced its readiness to quickly resolve the issue of issuing MIR-UnionPay cards

“We are not yet issuing Mir-UnionPay co-badged cards, but we will resolve this issue as quickly as possible,” RIA Novosti reports.

Sberbank is also considering the possibility of issuing a co-badged MIR card - UnionPay, which can be used abroad.

The MIR-UnionPay card will be accepted both in Russia and in other 180 countries that support work with the UnionPay payment system.

The fact that Russians can use a joint card of two MIR payment systems - UnionPay to pay for purchases and withdraw cash abroad, was previously recalled in the National Payment Card System.

As stated in the Central Bank, the cards of the international payment systems Visa and Mastercard of Russian banks will continue to work in Russia after both American companies announced the suspension of the provision of services in the country.

The regulator stressed that cross-border transactions with these cards will not be available.
