[Explanation] Recently, 8 driverless taxis and 4 driverless buses are undergoing open road autonomous driving tests on the roads around Xinchuan Innovation and Technology Park in Chengdu High-tech Zone.

Not long ago, Chengdu issued the city's first batch of road test vehicle license plates for these 12 test vehicles, which is regarded as a signal for Chengdu to accelerate the development of intelligent networked vehicles.

It is understood that, as a carrier for the comprehensive use of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G, big data, and cloud computing, intelligent networked vehicles will provide answers for smart transportation and smart city construction.

The reporter saw at the scene that there are lidars, cameras and other equipment distributed on the roof of the intelligent network test vehicle.

The interior and handling of the test car are basically the same as those of ordinary electric vehicles. During the test, the testers only use the steering wheel to observe the operation of the vehicle and deal with possible emergencies. The rest do not interfere with the normal driving of the vehicle.

The entire project includes a 30-kilometer test section, followed by 35 intersections, 8 driverless taxis and 4 driverless buses, as well as some application scenarios such as unmanned cleaning and unmanned retail.

At present, we have obtained the driverless test license, and some intelligent transformation of the road has also been completed.

After the road test reaches a certain mileage, the manned test will be started, and some applications at night, special weather, and special climate are also gradually being carried out.

[Explanation] According to reports, the self-driving vehicles currently tested are developed based on the Baidu Apollo self-driving platform, and the latest Apollo technology is applied.

To make driverless vehicles smarter and safer, algorithms still need to be trained with road samples, constantly letting the AI learn how to drive the vehicle in the area.

The self-driving vehicle itself is equipped with a lot of sensors, such as lidar, millimeter-wave radar and cameras. Through the fusion perception algorithm of various sensors, we can accurately obtain the environment around the vehicle. Through our artificial intelligence algorithm It can ensure the safety of the vehicle during operation.

Cars, bicycles, and motorcycles on the road are identified by this fusion perception algorithm, and then reflected on the big screen.

[Explanation] Data shows that nearly 30 provinces and cities across the country have issued more than 800 test licenses for more than 80 companies, with more than 4,000 kilometers of open test roads and a total test mileage of more than 10 million kilometers.

For the innovative development and future direction of the intelligent networked vehicle industry, Xie Yan, a researcher at iNED of the New Economic Development Institute, put forward her suggestions.

Continue to carry out technological innovation and transformation to encourage leading enterprises in the industry to build innovative platforms, or to encourage cross-border cooperation between large and medium-sized enterprises to carry out technological innovation and drive a group of software system integration developers to do some technology. 's research and development.

After the application of a large number of intelligent networked vehicles is implemented, how to ensure the data security and how to realize the data operation? I think this data security issue needs to be considered.
