As economic sanctions on Russia intensify and automakers are moving to forgo local businesses, Yamaha Motor, a major motorcycle manufacturer, has also decided to suspend exports of motorcycles and other products for the time being.

Yamaha Motor, headquartered in Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, exports and sells motorcycles, snowmobiles, and outboard motors to Russia.

However, according to Yamaha Motor, it has decided to suspend exports to the local area for the time being because economic sanctions on Russia, which has invaded Ukraine, will increase and logistics may be disrupted.

Exported motorcycles, snowmobiles, and outboard motors are manufactured at factories in Japan and the United States, of which about 2000 motorcycles were sold in the last year.

Among Japanese automakers, Toyota Motor will suspend operations at its Russian factory for the time being, and Honda, Nissan Motor, Mazda, and Suzuki will suspend exports of cars, motorcycles, and parts to Russia. The movement is expanding further.
