More than 3,000 suspicious real estate transactions were revealed, either with parents' money or with company money.

However, even if they keep getting caught like this, they will only pay the tax they should have paid later, and the punishment will not be heavy.

Reporter Jo Ki-ho reports.

Mr. A in his 30s recently bought a luxury apartment in Yongsan, Seoul for 7.75 billion won.

When he looked at the funding plan to the ward office, he only properly identified the source of the funds for 1.25 billion won, but did not explain the remaining 6.5 billion won.

He had no choice but to suspect an illegal gift.

Mr. B in his 20s decided to buy an apartment in Dongjak-gu, Seoul for 1.14 billion won from his father's friend, but he did not send even a single won on the condition that he took on the debt instead.

As a result of the investigation, it was confirmed that his father was in charge of the contract, and he did not have the financial capacity to pay off the debt.

In some cases, a 5-year-old child and a 17-year-old youth bought an expensive house.

[Lee Ki-bong / Head of Real Estate Transaction Analysis Planning Group, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport: It is suspected that a 5-year-old child received a gift of 500 million won from his grandparents, and a 17-year-old youth received a gift of 1.4 billion won from his parents...

Among the transactions suspected of expedient gifting, people in their 30s accounted for more than half, and people in their 20s accounted for 170 cases.

However, out of the more than 3,000 cases caught this time, except for 6 cases, most of them will only pay unpaid taxes and will not punish them, so it is evaluated as a flimsy punishment.

[Kim Woo-cheol/Professor of Taxation Department, Seoul National University: Social punishment, risk of criminal punishment by disclosing the list, and if the tax is more than a certain amount, it will be sent to the prosecution through the gift tax portal.

] If caught together, there should be a stronger punishment.
