China News Service, March 1st, a reporter asked a question at the press conference of the State Council Information Office. In 2022, China will face great pressure and difficulties in stabilizing foreign trade. What measures will the Ministry of Commerce take to ease the bailout of foreign trade enterprises?

In response, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao responded that in 2022, the Ministry of Commerce will implement four special actions, including cross-cycle adjustment and stabilization of foreign trade, market diversification, smooth foreign trade supply chain, and foreign trade innovation and quality improvement, and take multiple measures to stabilize foreign trade.

"From the perspective of the first two months, foreign trade has basically achieved stability, that is, the opening of the door is stable. We are also confident to complete the goals and tasks for the whole year and stabilize the basic market of foreign trade and foreign investment." Wang Wentao said.

Wang Wentao pointed out that the pressure this year is very huge and the situation is very complicated and severe.

The Central Economic Work Conference pointed out that this year, my country's economic development is facing triple pressures of shrinking demand, supply shocks, and weakening expectations.

From the perspective of demand contraction, the global epidemic situation is still ups and downs, the recovery momentum is unstable, and the external demand market is also facing some uncertainties.

From the perspective of supply shocks, we can see that the supply of raw materials and bulk commodities has not returned to normal, and the bottleneck in the supply chain is expected to be difficult to alleviate in the short term.

Judging from the weakening of expectations, problems such as shortage of cabinets and labor continue to plague foreign trade enterprises, and the price of raw materials and freight costs are still maintained at a relatively high level.

"Last year's high growth in foreign trade had many phased factors, including the return of orders, the export of anti-epidemic materials, the 'home economy', etc. The subsidence of these phased factors has added pressure to stabilizing foreign trade this year. In addition, we grew in US dollars last year. It is very stressful to grow on such a high base," Wang Wentao said.

Wang Wentao introduced that the Ministry of Commerce will do three aspects of work next: First, do a good job in the implementation and reserve of policies to stabilize foreign trade.

The second is to ensure the stability and smoothness of the industrial chain and supply chain.

The third is to continue to promote the innovative development of foreign trade.

"Today, the new cross-border e-commerce retail import commodity list has been officially implemented, and the list of commodities has been further increased and the categories have become more abundant. We must do these tasks well. At the same time, we must strengthen our efforts to support the development of overseas warehouses and build and improve overseas warehouses. Warehouse network, promote the construction of overseas intelligent logistics platform, cultivate a group of offshore trade center cities (regions), develop and expand new foreign trade formats and new models, and promote the development of trade at a higher level and higher quality." Wang Wentao said.
