In response to the situation in Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will hold liaison meetings with electric power companies and gas companies to secure sufficient fuel for each company in case of unforeseen circumstances amid concerns about destabilization of energy supply. I called.

There is a view that Russia may reduce its energy supply as a countermeasure against Russia, which has invaded Ukraine by military invasion, while Europe, the United States and Japan are tightening economic sanctions.

Under these circumstances, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry held an informal liaison meeting with major electric power companies and gas companies on the 28th to discuss future measures.

Among them, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has an inventory of 1.82 million tons of LNG = liquefied natural gas, which is a fuel for thermal power generation, as of the 20th of this month, which is about 2 to 3 weeks, and the electricity is stable. He explained that there would be no immediate major disruption to the supply.

After that, we urged each company to secure sufficient fuel in case of unforeseen circumstances in the future, and confirmed that if there is a shortage, each company will cooperate by accommodating fuel.
