Following Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, President Mikitani said on Twitter on the 27th, "We are really limited in what we can do, but we consulted with our family and decided to donate 1 billion yen to Ukraine. I made it clear.

At the same time, he released a document addressed to President Zelensky of Ukraine, saying, "I saw him bravely resisting an unprovoked attack and thought about what Japan could do," and he was the victim of violence. I want you to use it for humanitarian activities to save the Ukrainian people.

He said he would continue to support Russia and Ukraine, hoping that the issue would be resolved peacefully and that the Ukrainians could regain peace as soon as possible.

According to the company, President Mikitani will meet with President Zelensky in the capital Kiev in 2019, and donations will be made individually through the Ukrainian embassy in Japan.
