The General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs and the General Administration of Customs at the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the implementation of the national system for tracking trucks and shipments in the country, within the framework of Cabinet Resolution No. (95) of 2021, to apply the system to all transported shipments and trucks Those that practice transport within the territorial scope of the state, and those that practice transit transport through the state and which are determined by the Authority, with the aim of monitoring and tracking the movement of trucks and shipments.

The memorandum was signed, at the Expo 2020 Dubai headquarters, by Mubarak Matar Al Mansouri, Executive Director of the Customs Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Customs, and Alia Muhammad Al Marmoom, Executive Director of the Customs Affairs Sector at the General Administration of Customs at the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports.

By concluding the memorandum, the two parties aim to define roles and responsibilities, with the competent authorities, regarding the implementation of tracking operations for transported shipments and trucks that carry out the transport process within the territorial scope of the country, and to coordinate roles with regard to practical procedures for installing “tracking and electronic locks” devices, and entering information into the system that It was created by the authority to track and follow up the movement of shipments and trucks and electronically monitor them during their path from the port of entry to their final destination in the country, or from a specific starting point in the emirate to another arrival point inside the country in an instant and continuous way through linking with the operations room determined by the General Administration of Customs Abu Dhabi, as well as agreement on the scope of application of the service to operate the project, in order to track the routes of trucks and shipments.Mubarak Matar Al Mansouri explained that "the memorandum comes within the framework of Abu Dhabi Customs' efforts to strengthen customs regulations and raise the level of customs work in the emirate in order to enhance the role of customs in maintaining security and facilitating trade."
