It is estimated that the burden on households will increase by more than 20,000 yen a year due to the rise in energy prices such as gasoline.

Energy prices continue to rise, reflecting the situation in Ukraine, and the burden on households may become even greater.

Based on the comparison between energy prices such as gasoline and kerosene as of November last year and the average price of adults, the Cabinet Office divides how much the burden on households will increase annually into five groups according to the annual income of the household. I made a trial calculation.

As a result,

▽ the group with the lowest average annual income of 2.55 million yen increased the annual burden by 21,190 yen, and

▽ the group with the highest average annual income of 12.17 million yen increased the annual burden by 29,461 yen.

Looking at the ratio of the increase to income,

▽ the group with the highest annual income was 0.24%, while

▽ the group with the lowest annual income was 0.83%, and the lower the annual income, the greater the relative burden.

Due to the situation in Ukraine, the average price of regular gasoline nationwide has risen by more than 3 yen compared to November last year, and energy prices continue to rise, which may further increase the burden on households.

As for food, the annual income increased from 5396 yen to 9492 yen, and as with energy, the lower the income group, the heavier the relative burden.

The Cabinet Office points out that "food accounts for a large proportion of spending, so we need to be careful about its impact on consumer sentiment."
