On February 23, Tian Xuebin, vice minister of the Ministry of Water Resources, said at the State Council's regular policy briefing that in 2021, the Ministry of Water Resources will undertake more than 20 proposals for rural drinking water safety.
In the process of handling these suggestions and proposals, the Ministry of Water Resources has combined the verification and handling of rural water supply problems reflected on the 12314 supervision and reporting platform, conducted in-depth grass-roots research, found out the main problems of rural water supply, and worked hard to ensure rural water supply.
The top-level design of rural water supply security has been strengthened, and project construction funds have been raised through various channels in various regions, which has cumulatively improved the drinking water security level of more than 42.63 million rural population, and the penetration rate of tap water in rural areas has reached 84%, a record high.
