The Salem family's days were numbered, in the
neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah
.
She had an obligation to leave her home from March 1, 2022. This decision by the Israeli courts to freeze her deportation offers her a simple reprieve.
Because the case is not yet settled.
An Israeli court must decide his fate.
As with their other Palestinian neighbors in the neighborhood, this attempt to evict the Salem family is for the benefit of Jewish settlers.
They claim ownership of the land on which all these Palestinian houses are built.
Fifty years of legal battle
For half a century, Palestinians and Jewish settlers have been engaged in a legal battle.
Several cases are now in the hands of the Israeli Supreme Court.
