Etihad Airways has announced a new destination, and another that will resume operations during the summer season, to Europe and the Indian Ocean.

And the company stated in a statement, that it will add the island of Crete, and will resume its flights to destinations: Malaga, Santorini, and Zanzibar, stressing that the operation of flights to the four destinations will start from mid-June 2022.


The company detailed that it will launch seasonal flights at a rate of two flights per week to the Greek island of Crete, starting from June 15, 2022, pointing out that the flights are scheduled to operate via an Airbus A320 aircraft, which will connect the capital Abu Dhabi with Heraklion, the capital of Crete.


According to the announced flight schedule, Etihad Airways will operate two flights per week to Malaga from 15 June 2022, three flights per week to Santorini from 16 June, and three flights per week to Zanzibar from 17 June.


"Etihad Airways is pleased to provide more options for its guests who want to spend a special holiday during the summer season," said Martin Drew, Senior Vice President of Sales and Cargo at Etihad Airways.

He added: "Crete is an ideal destination for travelers looking to have a beach and mountain experience, and this destination, along with Malaga, Santorini and Zanzibar, are distinguished additions to the Etihad Airways network for the summer season."
