The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology revealed that it is currently studying the use of the smart electronic chip sticker, in controlling food products imported into the country, and cooperating with customs outlets to add the “reader” to the gates of customs disclosure, with the aim of ensuring a high level of quality in products, and protecting markets from products. The head of the certification department in the Department of Conformity Affairs in the ministry, Ahlam Ali Al-Marzouqi, said in a seminar organized by the ministry yesterday on the initiative to regulate the circulation of vehicle tire products and electrical appliances in the country's markets, that this smart system provides A comprehensive monitoring mechanism for the status of different products, so that the construction and supply chain for each product can be tracked, in accordance with the UAE standard specifications consistent with the Gulf Technical Regulations.

She added that this innovation depends on the use of a smart label technology that contains an electronic chip and an electronic QR code to read all the data of the previously approved product, which provides an innovative technology to detect all products that do not conform to specifications, within the framework of the inspection.

Al-Marzouqi explained that this system is characterized by not requiring waiting at the work site or during customs disclosure, and that the card is secure with encrypted data and is able to store data, while providing the integration of the QR code, to become a double technology, as well as being durable and can withstand the environment Stiff action, and allow a long range to read the data.

She stressed that installing the chip is mandatory on tires and electrical devices, pointing out that continuous inspection tours are carried out to verify compliance with its installation.

She stated that the ministry issues a notice of violation to violators, and communicates with the violating outlets to verify their knowledge of the mandatory installation, then issues various corrective measures, and in the event of non-compliance, the violating products are withdrawn, and violations are imposed in accordance with the laws applicable in each emirate.

She said that this smart system contributed to maintaining the safety of road users in the country and protecting consumers and national markets from non-conforming or smuggled products.
