Statistics show that during this year's Spring Festival Golden Week, Hainan received a total of 5.4113 million tourists and achieved a total tourism income of 7.53 billion yuan.

  In recent years, with the rapid development of Hainan's tourism industry, especially the continuous advancement of the construction of an international tourist island and Hainan Free Trade Port, the infrastructure, comprehensive reception, supporting services and other conditions of Hainan's tourism industry have been greatly improved, and the holiday tourism economy has continued to heat up. The positive role of tourism in boosting the construction of free trade ports has become increasingly apparent.

  During the Spring Festival this year, Hainan accurately grasped the differentiated needs of tourists and launched a series of "tourism +" and "+tourism" special products according to local conditions.

According to incomplete statistics, cities and counties in Hainan Province have successively held more than 80 various tourism festivals, allowing tourists to have more choices and have more fun, such as Haikou Mission Hills Fair, Sanya New Year Flower Market, Danzhou Lantern Festival, Qiong Activities with the theme of welcoming the new year, receiving blessings and experiencing New Year's customs, such as the joint exhibition of New Year paintings of Hai's "Appreciation of the New Year's Paintings and the New Year's New Year", and the Wenchang New Year's Blessing Temple Fair, attracted many tourists to experience and participate.

  In order to let Hainan's tourism "out of the circle" and attract more tourists from outside the island to come to Hainan for a holiday, the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports launched the "Sunshine Island Happy Season" joint promotion activity on November 18, 2021. Online travel platforms, media, travel-related companies, major duty-free shops, banks, airlines, etc. have launched marketing in advance during the Spring Festival tourism season in Hainan, and launched “Discover the Beauty of Hainan”, “Enjoy Hainan on a Beautiful Day” and “Qiongdao” for tourists both inside and outside the island. Themed activities such as “Chunmeng Island Master Exploring the Island”.

  Through multi-platform, multi-channel and multi-method promotion, tourists from all over the world learned about the new tourism formats and new products in Hainan at the first time, and came to experience and share them one after another.

During the Spring Festival holiday, the major duty-free shops in Hainan were extremely crowded and extremely popular. The duty-free shopping on the outlying islands of Hainan continued to show great attraction, becoming a major feature of Hainan tourism during the holiday, adding vitality to the holiday consumer market in Hainan.

According to statistics, from January 31 to February 6, the 7-day sales of duty-free shops on the outlying islands of Hainan exceeded 2.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of more than 150%.
