According to the announcement, Asahi Group Holdings will close two locations, the "Asahi Beer Kanagawa Factory" in Minamiashigara City, Kanagawa Prefecture and the "Asahi Beer Shikoku Factory" in Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture at the end of January next year.



The Kanagawa Factory mainly produces beer-based beverages for the Tokyo metropolitan area, and the Shikoku Factory produces beer-based beverages for Shikoku and Hiroshima Prefecture.



However, the company decided to close it because the consumption of commercial beer is declining due to the influence of the new corona, so-called "beer away" and the domestic market is not expected to expand in the future as the population continues to decline. I am trying.



About 130 employees working at the two factories will be supported for reassignment and reemployment.



In addition, the factory in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City will be relocated to a nearby location to produce beer-based beverages as well as soft drinks, with the aim of increasing the utilization rate of domestic factories through the reorganization of bases.
