In this spring battle, NTT's labor union, which has more than 140,000 members, has decided to demand a 2% increase in monthly wages from the management side because of the good performance even in the corona.

The NTT Workers Union, which has 146,000 members, held a central committee meeting on the 15th, combining the venue and online, and decided on the requirements for this spring battle.

Major companies in the group are seeking a 2% increase in monthly wages, and for full-time employees, it is equivalent to an average increase of 6800 yen per month.

The reason for this is that the union is doing well, with record-high profits in the nine-month financial results up to December last year, despite the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

According to the union, if the 2% wage increase and the regular salary increase are added, the wage increase is expected to be about 4%.

Katsuhiko Suzuki, the union's chairman of the central executive committee, said, "We will raise the motivation of our employees, focus on improving wages that contribute to their willingness to take on challenges, and strongly demand" investment in human resources. "

As Prime Minister Kishida calls on companies whose business performance has recovered to pre-Corona levels to raise wages by more than 3%, the labor-management negotiations of the NTT Group, which has many union members, are likely to be the focus.
