As tensions over the situation in Ukraine increased, crude oil futures prices rose sharply in the Tokyo market on the 14th, reaching a level for the first time in about 7 years and 4 months.

In the Tokyo market on the 14th, the futures price of crude oil, which is the center of the transaction, rose by more than 2000 yen from the closing price last Thursday, and temporarily reached the 62,900 yen level per kiloliter.

This is the highest level in 7 years and 4 months since October 2014.

Market officials said, "WTI futures prices, which are an international indicator of crude oil prices, have risen to the $ 94 level per barrel, and the rise has spread to the Tokyo market."

In the market, there are concerns that Russia will invade Ukraine and the impact will be prolonged, and there is a view that crude oil prices will continue to remain high.
