The commercial director of "Apex Brasil", Lucas Fiosa, said that the number of Brazilian companies participating in the current session of the "Gulfood 2022" exhibition is 114, pointing out that these companies are targeting commercial deals expected to exceed 415 million dollars (about 1.52 billion dollars). dirhams).
He added, during a press interview held by the agency on the sidelines of the opening of the exhibition, that Brazil's registration of an expanded participation in the new session confirms once again its role as a major commercial partner in the food sector of the UAE in particular, and the Middle East region in general.
He explained that participating Brazilian companies were attracted from various food sectors, including grains, meat and poultry, noting that Dubai is a commercial hub for the Middle East thanks to its strategic location and favorable work environment.
He stated that the UAE jumped from the 22nd rank among the leading importers from Brazil in 2017 to the 15th rank in 2019, with a share of 1.34% of the total.
He pointed out that meat, sugar, grains and soy account for about 90% of the total food products exported to Brazil.
