She said this during a press conference.

“We will make every effort to convince the government and talk in more detail about our arguments,” TASS quoted Nabiullina as saying.

According to the head of the Bank of Russia, the Central Bank sees significant risks in the situation with cryptocurrencies.

Nabiullina also stated that the concept of cryptocurrency regulation prepared by the Ministry of Finance does not save from existing risks.

On January 21, the Central Bank announced possible measures to tighten regulation of the cryptocurrency market in Russia. 

On January 25, Ivan Chebeskov, director of the financial policy department of the Ministry of Finance, opposed the proposed ban on cryptocurrencies in the country by the Central Bank.

He noted that he considers it necessary to introduce regulation of the digital asset market.
