The government has decided to lend some of LNG = liquefied natural gas to Europe, where tensions over Ukraine continue.

With the cooperation of Japanese companies, several dedicated vessels are expected to arrive next month.

Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hagita met with the EU-European Union and the US Ambassador to Japan on the 9th, and announced that some of Japan's LNG would be accommodated in Europe.



The government is seeking the cooperation of Japanese companies to sell LNG, which can be freely changed to a European company, to European companies.



Several dedicated LNG carriers are expected to arrive at the site next month after a voyage of about two weeks to 30 days.



However, domestic electricity supply and demand is expected to be the toughest in the last 10 years this winter.



The government has decided to determine the amount of flexibility while ensuring sufficient inventories.
