On January 15, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia had fulfilled all of its long-term gas supply contracts in 2021.

The Deputy Prime Minister also recalled that Russia can supply more gas to Europe, but this requires long-term contracts, since production growth has a long investment cycle.
