The leader of the Islamic State terrorist organization, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, was killed during a US commando operation in the province of Idleb, in northwestern Syria, announced Joe Biden Thursday.

For two days, the American president has donned the costume of commander-in-chief.

This operation removed a major terrorist leader from the battlefield and sent a strong message to terrorists around the world: we will hunt you down and we will find you.

Chinese rival superbly ignores US challenge

It is not certain, however, that this successful raid against a jihadist leader less known than his predecessors is enough to straighten the image of Joe Biden.

It was during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan that it began to deteriorate.
