In response to the ongoing military tensions in Ukraine, major Japanese trading companies are moving to evacuate local expatriates overseas.

Of these, "Itochu Corporation" has decided to evacuate all three Japanese expatriates working in the office and operating company in the capital Kiev to Japan and neighboring countries by the 30th. Sumitomo Corporation has decided to evacuate multiple expatriates in Ukraine to neighboring countries.

In addition, "Mitsubishi Corporation" says that safety is the first priority for local expatriates, and other major trading companies also take necessary measures depending on the situation.



A major Japanese trading company sells automobiles, construction machinery, and agricultural materials in Ukraine, but if military tensions continue, there are concerns that the domestic economy will stagnate and these sales will decline.



There is also widespread view that business in Russia and other neighboring countries is becoming more uncertain, and the situation in Ukraine is beginning to affect the business of Japanese companies.
