The management consultancy Roland Berger recalls its France boss Olivier de Panafieu from his post.

The Frenchman will be "released from all managerial duties with immediate effect," the company confirmed to the FAZ via email.

The company does not want to comment on the reasons.

Bloomberg news agency reports that Panafieu organized a dinner in support of far-right French presidential candidate Eric Zemmour at his home before his recall.

French internet newspaper Mediapart reported last week that Panafieu was among a group of businessmen who organized private fundraising dinners.

Roland Berger's Paris office will be managed immediately by a team led by Laurent Benarousse.

Olivier de Panafieu has worked for Roland Berger since 2000, was promoted to head of France in 2017 and has also been part of the management consultancy’s top management circle for three years.

He does not have to leave the management consultancy.

When asked, Roland Berger said that Panafieu was relieved of all management tasks, but that there was no separation.
